Storyline:
In a contemporary adaptation of Langston Hughes' celebrated play, the holiday musical drama BLACK NATIVITY follows Langston ( ), a street-wise teen from Baltimore raised by a single mother, as he journeys to New York City to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged relatives Reverend Cornell and Aretha Cobbs ( and ). Unwilling to live by the imposing Reverend Cobbs' rules, a frustrated Langston is determined to return home to his mother, Naima ( ). Langston embarks on a surprising and inspirational journey and along with his new friends, and a little divine intervention, he discovers the true meaning of faith, healing, and family.

The movie was very good. It teaches you forgiveness which EVERYBODY can stand a little of. It was directed and produced very well. Thumbs up to the cast. Very great movie

I loved this movie! It had me in tears within the first 10 minutes. Great Christmas movie. The music was great! Wonderful cast. Definitely a must see movie!!!

Movie was very good and has a great message about forgiving. In the beginning there was a lot of singing; didn't think I was gonna like it... Glad I was wrong!!!

I went to this movie - not quite sure what to expect. Jennifer Hudson plays a single mom who loses her place and sends her son to go live with Grandparents that he's never met. Surprise, Grandfather is a minister. Angela Bassett is wonderful and beautiful and her character is so "healing."
When I started watching this - I thought "great this looks like a musical with nothing but Jennifer Hudson in it"...(eye roll). But it take surprising turns.
This little Man by the name of Jacob Latimore starts singing and he is nothing short of AMAZING! His mom sends him off on a bus...then it started getting old fast - there was a song about a "motherless child" that the lyrics were horrible... I was about to leave. Then he shows up in NY through a chain of events the kid ends up in jail. Tyrese Gibson shows up in it (I hadn't read the credits first). - I knew everything was going to change and it was going to be worth sticking around for.
I don't want to ruin the ending but I cried.

A movie for the family to go must see together. I'm going back Friday Morning to take my grandson with me! Parents need to go and check out. I enjoy the meaning of the movie!
